Skills

Skills are specialised automations that extend what your bot can do. They handle specific tasks like generating reports, processing data, or interacting with external services.

What is a Skill?

A skill is a set of instructions that teaches your bot how to handle a specific task. Think of skills as recipes — each one defines the exact steps for a particular workflow.

Without skills, your bot is a capable conversationalist. With skills, it becomes a specialist — able to produce structured reports, automate multi-step workflows, and interact with external services on your behalf.

Automatic activation

You don't need to select a skill from a menu. Just describe what you need and your bot automatically identifies and uses the right skill.

Profession-specific

Your bot comes with skills tailored to your industry. Different professions have different skills configured.

Expandable

New skills can be added to your bot at any time. Ask your Intelliprop administrator if you need a new workflow automated.

How Skills Work

When you send a message, your bot reads it and decides if any of its skills are relevant. If so, it follows the skill's instructions to complete the task. Here's an example:

YouGenerate a report on Richmond VIC and email it to David.
BotI'll generate the report for Richmond VIC and send it to David at david@email.com. Shall I go ahead?

In this example, the bot automatically activated two skills — report generation and email delivery — from a single message.

Viewing Your Skills

You can see all the skills your bot has by clicking the Skills icon in the room header. This opens the Skills panel in the sidebar, showing a list of every skill available to your bot.

The skills list is for reference only — you don't need to select or activate skills manually. Your bot uses them automatically based on what you ask.

Found a workflow that works? Save it as a skill.

If you and your bot figure out a great process together — a sequence of steps, a way of formatting something, a multi-step workflow — you can tell your bot to save it as a permanent skill. Next time, it runs automatically.

YouThat process we just did for onboarding a new client — save that as a skill so you can do it automatically next time.
BotDone. I've saved "Client Onboarding" as a new skill. Next time you say "onboard a new client", I'll follow the same steps automatically.

Requesting New Skills

You can also contact your Intelliprop administrator to have professional skills built and deployed to your bot without any downtime — they appear automatically once added.
